I don’t consider myself a spontaneous person and not a big fan on surprises. I find joy in the planning process. Why I believe one should not discard the importance of preparation. Yes, I agree there is truth in that some of the best experiences are the once that are unplanned. Only reason why I believe this to be true, is because our expectations are lower than if you had to plan ahead. Of cause your expectations are going to be exceeded.
I’m all one for about the journey and not the destination. When I want to give someone a surprise, I give them hints to get the excitement going. With that one has to manage their expectations, so that they don’t end up dreaming way to big and get disappointed at the end and basically ruining the surprise haha. I live by “under promise, over deliver” concept that never fails me.
I’m planning my next overseas trip to Dubai, only happening in 5 months from now. But my journey has already began. Researching on the adventures, speaking to people that has been their already getting them excited makes me even more excited… This past weekend was a sneak preview of what summer has in store for us. With the weather forecast, I planned a beach day 7 days in advance! I sacrificed my late night out with the girls to take in the stunning weather. I have no regrets.
People that don’t plan ahead are not prepared to commit, because their hearts are not all in it. This applies to generosity as well. So ask yourself the question, where is your heart? and where do you want to lead it to?
I agree. Planning does indeed produce success, whether it be pleasure, business or just having to explore things you never explored before. Well said dear friend!
