Life is like a peanut butter Jar, you don’t know when it will end. You can quote me on that;)
Earlier today I felt like peanut butter on my toast. As I was scrapping for the last bit that was left, it dawned on me that I seem to only remember the times of when I was scrapping the bottom of the jar. Reminded me of when I was about 10 years old and my mom told me I didn’t know what struggle was because I threw away left over peanut butter still in the jar.
We live in a society that says it’s good to vent, let it all out. Not only do we vent to ourselves, but to others too. Reliving the same negative experience all over again. Venting is basically complaining, and is complaining ever a good thing? Then once we exhausted that experience, it becomes easier to hop onto the next complain. I think negative experiences are there to teach us a lesson of how we could have done things differently. That is my definition of positive thinking and this is what I consider having a growth mindset. If we make it our mission to take a lesson out of every hardship, no matter how small it may be, could it ever really be a bad thing?
I’ve often been told that I never complain. And it’s not that I don’t have anything to complain about, I have loads of things I can think at the top of my head. Thinking positive has become a practice that I’m now accustomed to. Same way complaining is a practice, the same I can say about “finding the silver lining with every cloud”. You know those people that always seems negative, we have become so aware more than ever of negativity, we’re finding it easier to just cut out the “drama”. Remember that we were once partaking in those dramas, and now that we are “enlighten” it seems that it’s just okay to cut out negative people out of lives. I say be just that, the light to the darkness. Instead of cutting people off, the next time someone complains to you, ask them one simple question “so what will you do differently next time?”
“Train your mind to see the good in everything. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thought”
