I am not my circumstances

Only recently, I’ve been more aware of how I talk about myself to other people and myself. Since then I noticed that my believes has changed. Especially how often I talked down to myself when I’ve failed at something. Failing is part of life. Yes I failed, but does that make me a failure? I can chose to do it better the next time round. And maybe I had to fail so I can learn from my experience and teach others to do it even better. Failing happens to all of us. Lost your job, failed your drivers test, lost a relationship, failed at delivering a service. These are all circumstances that happens to us. Same goes with success. Some things comes easier to others because of the people they know, the places they go. Some has to work harder at getting what they want, where others are handed to them “on a silver platter”.

One night, a long time ago… I drank a bit a tad too much😐 A friend asked me why I was crying myself to sleep. I Don’t remember any of it. My response to him was “I’m a fuckup”. It makes me sad now looking back, that is what I thought of myself. I was hurting inside because I felt unloved. My emotions are not who I am. Emotions are there to guide us. Like with any guide, we need to go through it to get to where we need to be.
